British Gymnastics Teachers' Award for Trampolining Level I

This course consists of two levels, each of two days' duration.  Level 1 consists of the basic skills, and qualifies teachers to teach those skills in schools.  It is necessary to complete Level I before progressing to Level II, though this need not be done in the same school year.  Level I is continually assessed; Level II has a written exam paper.

Only qualified PE teachers (including those qualified abroad) and qualifying students (PGCE, GTP ro SCITT) may achieve this qualification, and a DfES number is necessary at registration.  Completion of the award is recognised as qualification to teach the relevant skills in schools.

Level I

• Safe assembly of trampolines
• Basic kipping techniques
• Seat,  back, hands, kneed and front landings
• Shaped jumps
• Twisting
• Basic combinations
• Half twist to and from seat, back and front
• Swivel hips and roller
• Simple sequence construction
